The Specifications: what you need to know

As we said in the introduction, there are four main exam boards covering England and Wales.  This section aims to provide you some useful links straight to the GCSE Computer Science course details for each board (some of their websites can be like navigating minefields if you're not a teacher!).  We will regularly check for updates and new information, and update/expand the links here as needed.  Here are some useful "starter" links for each board:

AQA (Assessment and Qualifications Alliance) provides a good "at a glance" overview with very clear links to more detailed information here:

OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA) provide a good "at a glance" overview here:

with the full specification (syllabus) downloadable here:

Pearson Edexcel have a page for their course here, with a download link to the full Specification (syllabus):

WJEC (also branded Eduqas)

WJEC (Welsh Joint Education Committee) provide an overview of their course here:

More to follow

We appreciate you may wish for more details and explanations - some of the boards' Web sites are more parent-friendly than others (heck, some of them are rather a lot more teacher-friendly than others!) - keep checking back, we will update and expand this page.

Stay tuned and keep coming back - there will be more in this section soon.
